Our goal is to help practitioners make smarter decisions about using AI, and to help transportation professionals thrive in the era of AI by working with AI as a teammate. We encourage the safe, smart, and responsible adoption of AI across the transportation industry.

ARPA-I Recognition

In 2025, TransportationBench was selected as one of 15 semi-finalists in the U.S. Department of Transportation's ARPA-I Ideas and Innovation Challenge — chosen from 448 submissions nationwide. The challenge seeks bold, transformative solutions to enhance America's infrastructure, improve safety, and reduce costs.

What We Evaluate

TransportationBench evaluates AI models across three pillars:

  • Tasks— Can AI perform real-world transportation work, like road safety audits?
  • Community— How do practitioners rate AI performance in head-to-head comparisons?
